Free warranty claim letter generator
Something broke sooner than it should have. Put the claim in writing.

A warranty claim is won on two facts: when you bought it, and how it failed. Everything else β how much you paid, how disappointed you are, how long you have shopped there β is padding that pushes those two facts further down the page.
Describe the fault as specifically as you can: what it does now, what it did before, and when that changed. Vague faults get vague answers.
An example
Laptop bought in November shuts down on battery power, receipt says two years warranty.
Dear Customer Service Team, I bought a laptop from you in November. Since last week it shuts down immediately whenever the charger is unplugged, even with the battery showing around 80%. The receipt lists a two-year warranty. I would like to have the laptop repaired under that warranty, or replaced if a repair is not practical. Please let me know how you would like me to send it in.
Common questions
+Do I need the original receipt?
It helps enormously. If you have lost it, a bank or card statement showing the purchase is usually accepted β say so in the message rather than hoping it will not come up.
+The shop says it is my fault. Now what?
Ask them, in writing, what specifically leads them to that conclusion. A vague blame is easy to give verbally and hard to put in an email.
+Manufacturer or shop?
Start with whoever sold it to you β it is their sale. Going to the manufacturer first often means being sent back to the shop a week later.
